The walking trails to and from the Top Crossing site are easy Grade 3 walks through open bushland. The paths are natural, unformed ground that is slashed and cleared with no obstacles.
In the area of the Top Crossing it becomes a Grade 5 Walk with steps up and down over rocks, boulders, slippery surfaces. Rough terrain with no signage. Walkers need extensive bushwalking experience, map & GPS navigation skills, first aid & ability to survive in the bush.
Advisory Note: All walks require protective footwear and clothing including a hat. Carry a first aid kit or at least a snake bite kit. Also carry drinking water.
There are three points along the creeks on our property where a vehicle can cross the creek. The bottom crossing, at the end of Doro's Hole, actually crosses the Broadwater. Just below the Main Residence there is "The Crossing" over Cannon Creek. The only other path across Cannon Creek is the Top Crossing.
The area of Cannon Creek, across from the Top Crossing, is about 5.2 acres of open rocky creek bed and it is an exciting place to explore. It can be explored and navigated alone buta guide would be handy for the inexperienced bush walker.
From the Earth Cabin, the Top Crossing Circuit is a 2.5km round trip. Follow the signs for an enjoyable walk through open bushland, around to the entrance gate and then cross the road to the main home, turning into the left , following the walking track signs along the middle path to the Top Crossing. I recommend following the Cabin signs to return, for a wander through another part of the easy open bushland.
Please respect the privacy of others and avoid the precincts of the Main Residence and the Cabin Retreats of other guests.
